In response, the School established the Advance Class in 1978, offering free tuition to outstanding graduates of Chinese primary schools and implementing grade-skipping to allow outstanding students to directly advance from Lower-Secondary Year 1 to Year 3. The Manifold Development of
the Pay Fong Spirit

Since expanding its offerings to include upper-secondary education in 1957, Pay Fong School has become a fully-fledged secondary school.
Before 1960, there was no concept of subject or stream differentiation in either the upper- or lower-secondary levels. It was not until 1960, to facilitate students who were unable to continue their education after graduating from secondary school, and to meet a demand for talents in the field of business and commerce in Malacca, that the School introduced a commerce class, marking the beginnings of stream differentiation. Since then, with the changing times and global developments, there have been changes in the upper- and lower-secondary curricula of the School. In any case, the educational ethos of the School has always maintained while providing educational content and course selections that are relevant.
