Celebrating Our Cultural Tapestry
The design concept for the History Gallery’s Audiovisual Room is inspired by the two Yellow Flame trees (Peltophorum pterocarpum) on campus, long regarded as symbols of the Pay Fong spirit. Planted in the 1950s, these trees have stood on the school grounds for over half a century, accompanying generations of Pay Fong students as they grew and learned and serving as silent witnesses to the School’s century-long history. The stone benches beneath the trees have long formed part of a shared campus landscape. They are places for quiet rest and waiting in the afternoons, corners where students leave their schoolbags before heading to the basketball court, and spaces where teachers and students gather for conversation, guidance and encouragement. Countless moments of youth have unfolded beneath these trees, weaving together the rich collective memory of the Pay Fong community.
